Project Coordinator - Community Fridge

Salary: £21,500
Location: Swansea – driving licence essential
Hours: 35 per week

We are looking to recruit a key team member to help us take our Community Fridge to the next level, by ensuring growth and sustainability of this vital community resource.

Our Community Fridge is a community food resource, which aims to redistribute surplus food that would otherwise go to waste to the community, free of charge. 

Since opening to the public in early 2019, Swansea Community Fridge has redistributed over 14 tonnes of food that would otherwise have gone to waste.  We are proud of the part our fridge has played in feeding the people of Swansea during the Covid-19 crisis, which required us to remodel our service to enable it to operate safely and develop new ways of working, to respond to the unique problems presented by lockdown/local restrictions.

You may have a retail, food or hospitality background, or you may not.  Whatever your background, your role will be to build on the brilliant stuff we already do by developing the service and expanding its reach and impact.  To do this, you will need to be a problem solver, have strong relationship building skills and build trust and credibility easily. This role requires a flexible and organised individual who can take responsibility and multitask to maximise opportunities.
